Survey Series 141-150

145-003 Female Born, 1940 Diagnosed Relapsing/Remitting in 1994 at age 54.

Treatment, steroids - quit, low fat diet, very poor diet control but good result, overweight, no regular exercise and see no relation of stress to MS. Now on a scale 1-10 I am about a five because of loss of balance and bladder control.

147-002 Male - Born, 1947 Chronic Progressive diagnosis in 1990 at age 43

Treatments, replaced fillings 1997, no change yet. Ca 2-AEP, fair results. Low-fat and dairy free diet since 2/97 so far no results. I first heard of diet over 4 years ago but did not start it because I was in denial. I'm really non-compliance in my diet control, I avoid hard fat if I happen to think about it, otherwise eat what is on the table. My weight is normal I exercise sometimes and do not think stress has anything to do with MS.

147-004 Female born 1956 Diagnosed 1995, but suspected in 1987.

Treatment Lo-fat, dairy free and gluten free. Diet control is good, do cheat now and then. I feel good on the diet.

I do feel stress is involved in bringing on symptoms. I walk with a cane or use a wheelchair for long distances. Numbness and exhaustion have not improved on the diet but most other symptoms have.

148-001 Male Born, 1926 Diagnosed chronic/progressive in 1984 at age 58.

Treatment, dairy free, low fat diet started in 1989 with good result, exercise by working in garden & stationary bike in winter and do not feel MS has anything to do with stress. I rate my life as good.
